Until Sunday, April 29, 2012 Palazzo Barberini hosts an exhibition dedicated to Francesco Barbieri also known as "Guercino".

Francesco Barbieri is one of the greatest exponents of the Seventeenth Century, active in Rome from 1621 to 1623. The exhibition traces, through 36 works, the artistic evolution of one of the favorite pupils of the great Ludovico Carracci. Native of Cento, Guercino arrived in Rome where he became the favorite artist of Pope Gregory XV Ludovisi who commissioned several works including the decoration of the Casino Ludovisi in the area of the Pincio.
