During the exhibition are on display about 85 works by Gendel, of which approximately 30 photographs taken from 1950 to recent years. Photographs, paintings and sculptures that testify to the artist's career, from his debut in New York after the war to Rome, to trips to China, Formosa and Shanghai since 1945. Always in touch with artists around the world, in particular Italian and American, Gendel shows early in his career a strong influence on the works of Max Ernst, André Breton and Isamu Nogushi. The exhibition will also be presented works, prints and paintings of American artist friends including Burri, Toti Scialoja and other foreign artists.
