Mexico. Teotihuacan: The City of Gods Overview

From 9 Nov 2010 to 27 Feb 2011 the great cultural event devoted exclusively to the pre-Columbian civilization of Teotihuacan (2nd - 7th centuries AD).

The exhibition is designed to acquaint the public for the very first time with the history, art and culture of one of the most prestigious, mysterious and fascinating empires of Central America, an empire which dominated the entire region before the Aztecs.


Over 300 masterpieces, for example extraordinary monumental sculpture works, onyx carvings and murals depicting religious beliefs and myths, painted or inlaid terracotta vases and terracotta braziers with anthropomorphic, statuettes in oxydian and jade and mythological and liturgical figures. All these pieces will testify the sophistication, the creativity and the passion for art and design of the people of Teotihuacan empire, whose capacity for expression, wisdom, skill and culture are still enormously admired and studied today.
