Is recommended to walk from one place to another since all the churches are close to each other.
To visit the sites mentioned takes about 4 or 5 hours, depending on the time you decide to stop in each church.
The following itinerary will allow you to visit some of the most important churches of Rome such as St John in Lateran’s Basilica and the Church of Holy Cross in Jerusalem
The itinerary starts from the Church of St Praxedes that can easily be reached from the metro station "Cavour" (line B) or from the station "Vittorio Emanuele" (Line A). After visiting the church which has important Byzantine mosaics you continue the route on Via Merulana.
After a few hundred meters you'll find the St Anthony at Lateran's Basilica. Inside the church you can admire works of art and frescoes attributed to the Franciscans. Next to the church is the famous St John in Lateran's Basilica. Continue the itinerary along Viale Carlo Felice and arrive at the church of Holy Cross in Jerusalem, dedicated to the True Cross. We suggest you visit the church, as there are many examples of Christian art.
