A brief tour in the historic center of Rome to discover the most popular places: from People's Square to Colonna Square, through the ancient churches, the historical monuments and the famous Roman streets full of shops both for adults and kids.
Is absolutely recommended to walk from one place to another since all the locations are in the city center.
To visit the sites mentioned it takes about 4 or 5 hours, depends on the time you decide to stay in the places.
The roman itinerary starts from People’s Square, where you can get both by bus and metro (Line A, stop at "Flaminio"). In the square, redisigned by Valadier, you can admire the high obelisk. After take the stairs at the side of the square and go upside the Pincio, which offers a beautiful view of the city. From the Pincio you should continue for Viale Trinità dei Monti and you’ll arrive in front of the Church of Trinità dei Monti above the Spanish Steps. We suggest you visit the inside of the roman church where you can admire many important paintings such as the fresco “Deposition” by Daniele da Volterra. Go down the stairs and arrive in Spain’s Square, the famous square of Rome, designed by Bernini. Passing through Via dei Condotti or Via Frattina you'll arrive in Via del Corso. Continuing along the road and after few meters, on your right, you’ll see Colonna Square, with the high column made by Marcus Aurelium Emperor and where also resides Palazzo Chigi. In front of the square instead you’ll find the Colonna's Gallery also known as Galleria Alberto Sordi, dedicated to the great Italian actor. Before resuming the itinerary in the historical center of Rome, we suggest you stop at the Colonna’s Gallery, where you can relax by eating or drinking something and have a fun amog the shops.
