A day of art and green, to explore the art galleries and museums of Villa Borghese.
Is absolutely recommended to walk from one place to another since all the locations are in the Park of Villa Borghese.
To visit the sites mentioned it takes about 6 or 8 hours, depends on the time you decide to stay in the museums.
The itinerary starts from the subway stop "Flaminio" (Line A). Once off the subway continued along Via George Washington and go directly into the park of Villa Borghese. The first attaction is the Carlo Bilotti Museum where you can admire the greats works of Giorgio de Chirico, including the beautiful sculpture of Hector and Andromache. Continue to walk in the park, cross Siena's Square, and arrive at the Borghese Gallery. We suggest a visit to the gallery in which are preserved masterpieces by Antonello da Messina, Giovanni Bellini, Raphael, Titian, Correggio, Caravaggio and sculptures by Canova. After that, even to entertain your children, you should spend some time at Bioparco, the great Roman zoo where you can see many species of exotic animals. Now we suggest you take a break, drinking and eating something at Bioparco's restaurants and bars. After your break take your children to discover the Explora Kids Museum, the museum dedicated to kids under 12 years old. For lovers of modern and contemporary art, we suggest a visit to the National Gallery of Modern Art, which contains fine collections of the greatest painters of the world. The tour of the museum ends with another attraction not to be missed, the National Etruscan Museum of Villa Giulia, dedicated to the Etruscan civilization.
