Came to discover the testimonies and the ruins of Ancient Rome preserved at the Museum of Roman Civilization and the ancient roman building located in the archeological area of Ostia Antica.

Is recommended to take the subway to reach the museum and Ostia Antica.

Time Required:

It takes about 8 hours to visit all of the sites mentioned, depending on how much time you decide to spend in each place.

The itinerary starts from the subaway statione "Eur Fermi" (Line B). Once you exit turn right onto Viale America until the intersection with Viale dell'Arte. Turn left onto this road and go straight until the intersection with Viale delle Civiltà Romana. Turn right and you'll arrive in Piazza Gianni Agnelli where you will find the Museum of Roman Civilization. During the visit you will have the opportunity to closely observe the remains of Roman culture through objects and tools, including furniture, household items and tools for everyday use. After visiting the museum go back to the subway station "Eur Fermi". Take the metro back towards Rebibbia and get off after two stops at "Magliana Eur". From Magliana take the train to Ostia Lido (it only takes' about 20 minutes). Once you get to the Ancient Ostia Excavation you can follow five themed trails, based on the historical and cultural depth you want. Within the archaeological digs of Ostia Antica, visit the great Roman Theatre, the Temple of Hercules, the Roman Domus and many other interesting ruins that testify to the social and commercial life of Imperial Rome. We also suggest you a visit to the Museum which is located within the excavations.
