Itinerary description

Intro:
This itinerary takes you visit the Roman Forum, the Palatine Hill  and the Roman Colosseum. The tour also drives you through the Capitoline Museums where you can see  the presence of ancient greek art in Rome.
Transport:
It is highly recommended to walk from one place to another since all the locations are in an archaeological area.
Time Required:
It takes about 8 hours to visit the locations mentioned, depending on how much time you decide to stop in each place and archeological site

Route:
This itinerary starts from the Palatine Hill, an archeological area which contains the Emperor's residences, arches and temples. Inside you can also explore the great  Domus Flavia and Domus Augustana. From the Palatine you can also enjoy a magnificent view above Rome. The itinerary continues with the visit of the Roman Colosseum or Coliseum, also known as the Anfiteatro Flavio. After visiting the Colosseum we suggest you check out the archeological site of the Roman Forum. Amog the Roman ruins and the ancient columns, you should visit the Temple of Saturn, the Vestal Virgins' House, the Arch of Titus, the Arch of Septimius Severus and Antoninus and Faustina's temple. Then you can walk along Via dei Fori Imperiali, At the beginning of the street, on the left you can see the Mercato Traiano, designed by Apollodorus of Damascus in 107 BC. We suggest you go inside the archeological area of the Fori Imperiali and walk along the ancient Roman ruins, a truly magical experience! From there you'll arrive in Venice Square  where you can climb the stairs on the side of the square up to Capitol Hill, the smallest of Rome's seven hills. Capitoline Museums are also found in this square. This itinerary includes a visit to the museum, divided into two parts: Palazzo Nuovo, where you'll find ancient greek and roman sculptures, such as the famous “Discobolo”; and Palazzo dei Conservatori, where you can admire paintings and frescoes by great artists such as Tintoretto, Caravaggio, Bernini and Veronese.
