Description

The Auditorium was inaugurated in December 2002 after over 10 years of construction. It was built by the famous architect Renzo Piano on top of an ancient Roman villa. There are three main rooms that can accommodate up to 3000 spectators. The Auditorium Parco della Musica was founded by a joint agreement between the Municipality of Rome, the Chamber of Commerce, the Province of Rome and the Lazio Region. It is considered as one of the most important buildings for the promotion of culture in Rome. Also housed within the auditorium is the Academy of St Cecilia, which every season holds concerts series of classical, jazz, pop and rock music. All year the auditorium hosts internationally renowned events from the international film festival to exhibitions, concerts, cultural and artistic events. To get to the Auditorium Parco della Musica take the following bus lines: 910 Terminal / Piazza Mancini, 53 Terminal Piazza Mancini / Piazza San Silvestro, 217 Terminal Viale XVII Olympiad / Termini Station, 231 Terminal Piazza Mancini P. of the Canestre (Villa Borghese) only on Saturday and Sunday, "M" line, Termini Station Terminal / Viale Pietro de Coubertin (Auditorium) which runs from 5pm until the end of the last Show. Departures are every 15 minutes: take Tram 2D towards Piazza Risorgimento Terminal / Piazza Mancini. Or take subway (Line A), stop "Flaminio" and from there bus number 2 or M.
