Description

The Macro Testaccio, not to be confused with the Contemporary Art Museum (Macro) is an exhibition area now used for exhibitions and special events that are located within the former century-old slaughterhouse, built between 1888 and 1891 by Joachim Ersoch. The Slaughterhouse is considered one of the most important industrial buildings in the city to modernity and originality of its facilities since 2002, and two buildings inside the complex were assigned to MACRO for the development and dissemination of contemporary art. Currently is home of some of the most interesting national and international events in Rome with the intention of promoting the Italian and international contemporary art. To get to the Macro Testaccio from Termini Train Station you can take the subway(Line B), direction Laurentina for 4 stops, get off at Piramide and from there take bus 719 for 3 stops, get off at Galvani / Zabaglia and walk for 200 meters until Macro.
