Description

The Arch of Janus in Rome is a four sided arch in front of the church of St George at Velabrum. The arch, probably dedicated to the God Janus, is 12 meters wide and 16 meters high and is quite imposing. During ancient roman times it was used by the merchants as a shelter instead in medieval times, the Arch of Janus was used as a fortress by the Roman family Frangipane.
