Description
The Foro Italico, formerly called Foro Mussolini, was built between 1931-33 according to the design of Enrico Del Debbio in front of the wooded slopes of Monte Mario. Inside you’ll find the Olympic Stadium, Rome's main stadium, the complex that hosts the International Tennis Championship, the Olympic swimming pools and the marble Stadium. The marble stadium holds 16,000 people and is surrounded by 92 statues of athletes in various athletic positions. In the front entrance you’ll find an obelisk standing 19.40 meters high with the writing "Mussolini Dux".
