Description

The Centrale Montemartini is the new exhibition center of the Capitoline Museums, which is located in the ex Centrale Termoelettrica Giovanni Montemartini. The center houses a magnificent example of industrial archeology because it brings together the ancient Roman sculptures and old industrial machinery, creating a striking contrast to art and culture. On display are works of the ancient Roman sculptures, precious artifacts found in excavations of the late nineteenth and the early thirties in 1900, with the reconstruction of large and monumental illustration of the development of the ancient city from the Republican to the late imperial age. To reach the Centrale Montemartini you can take buses No. 23, 271, 769, 770 or the subway (Line B) stop "Garbatella". Tuesday-Sunday 9:00 to 19:00, Closed Monday, December 24 and 31 9:00 to 14:00
