Description

The current Villa Balestra is what remains of the splendid XVIth century villa, perched on the top of Monti Parioli. The villa has an elliptical shape and was built between two parallel pathways surrounded by flowerbeds and large trees. Purchased by Giuseppe Balestra in 1880, it was partially torn down in 1910 before becoming the property of the City of Rome in 1939.
